I am starting this blog now that Luke is almost 3 months old to document how fast he is growing.  I hope one day he will get a kick out of reading it.   His first real (non gas related) smile was the first week in September.  Now is he all smiles and he giggled for the first time  last Sunday (October 9th) . He has also started putting weight on his legs, making me think he may skip crawling and go straight to pulling up and walking. He can hold his head up pretty well during "tummy time"  although he will only put up with it for awhile (longer if mommy puts in Baby Mozart for him to watch.)  We are going to start trying to teach him baby sign language, although he probably won't be able to get the hang of it until he is nine months old.  I need time to practice and get the hang of it before then.  Luke and I have just begun going to Stroller Strides, a stroller fitness class, a few mornings a week.  Luke still prefers the Baby Bjorn to the stroller, so I end up "wearing" him and pushing the stroller half of the time.  I really enjoy it though, and I am looking forward to getting back into shape and meeting new mommies.

Luke has always had some belly problems (gas -- poor baby)! We have tried everything to help  We keep hoping that it will magically get better, but we are still waiting!   It is usually the worst in the evenings.

Luke isn't the best sleeper, so I have been obsessing over sleep books and techniques.  WE have made some strides in the napping, but he refuses to go to sleep "on his own."  He is a bit young for "sleep training" so I have been "forced" to snuggle him to sleep at night.  I treasure this time as I know it won't be long before he won't want to be so close.  He is quite a snuggle bunny for now though!

I have always been nervous about taking him out to dinner, but I conquered that fear last week.  We went dinner with some of my friends from law school. This required driving to Hoboken (an hour away).  Luke used to scream in the car, but thankfully he has gotten used to it for the most part.  He slept most of the way, only waking when we got stuck in tunnel traffic.  Being in the car with Luke is kind of like being in the movie Speed -- you can't go below a certain speed without a melt down.   It was a great night and Luke loved visiting with his Aunt Heather, Aunt Stephanie, and Aunt Danielle.  I also enjoyed getting out and seeing everyone!
